How to make money from TikTok slideshows: 5 real ways

In this guide ›

You can make money from TikTok slideshows, but TikTok doesn't pay you for the views. The money comes from where the views lead: affiliate sales, your own product, brand deals, an email list, or running slideshow accounts for clients. Platform rules below are checked against TikTok's own pages as of late 2026.

Does TikTok pay for slideshows?

No. TikTok's Creator Rewards Program page lists what a post needs to earn, and two rules exclude slideshows:

  • The video must be original and over 1 minute long.
  • It "shouldn't be created using Photo Mode."

The EEA program terms put it more bluntly: an eligible video "is not a Photo Mode video."

Exporting your slides as a 61-second video usually doesn't work either. The same Creator Academy page lists "slide videos" and "low-quality images" as ineligible. So ignore any guide that quotes an RPM for slideshows.

The program itself requires you to be 18+, have a personal account, at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and live in one of eight countries (US, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico, Brazil). That matters only because a slideshow audience can later carry over to long-form videos that do earn.

Why slideshows are still worth it

A text-on-image slideshow can take minutes instead of the hour a filmed video takes, so you can post often. People control the pace, so a good list or story gets swiped to the end and saved.

That makes slideshows a strong top-of-funnel. You just need to send the attention somewhere that pays.

1. TikTok Shop affiliate on photo posts

How it works. You tag a TikTok Shop product on your post and earn the commission the seller set when someone buys. TikTok's US Creator Eligibility Policy caps shoppable photo posts at 60 a day (and short videos at 30), so shoppable slideshows are a supported format.

Requirements (US). Per the same policy: self-apply, be 18+, be based in the US, have 1,000+ followers and pass identity verification. Rules differ by country, so check Seller Center for yours.

The pilot program. Under 5,000 followers, you start in a pilot for at least 30 days. You can only promote products from shops with a Shop Performance Score of 95% or higher, post up to 3 shoppable product videos a day, and you can't join campaigns. You graduate at 5,000 followers and 30 days in the program.

What works. "Things I bought that were worth it," dupes, before-and-after, "what's in my bag" and problem-solution lists. Show and explain the product, don't just tag it.

Realistic expectations. A hypothetical example, not a promise. Replace every number with your own:

  • 100,000 views on a slideshow
  • 1% tap the product = 1,000 product page visits
  • 2% of those buy = 20 orders
  • A $20 product at 10% commission = $2 per order
  • 20 orders x $2 = $40 from that post

Most posts do much less, a few do much more. That's why affiliate creators post a lot and watch which products actually sell.

2. Promote your own product, app or service

How it works. You run a slideshow account in your niche and point people to something you own: an app, a store, a course, a coaching offer. This is what people mean by "slideshow marketing" for apps. You keep the whole margin.

Hook

What it does

Inside the app

Store listing

Save + more

An app promo that shows the product in use before it ever asks for a download. Swipe to see every slide.

Requirements. Nothing from TikTok beyond normal account rules. You need a way for people to reach you: a bio link, a TikTok Shop listing for physical goods, or an easy-to-search product name. Whether the bio website field appears depends on your account type and follower count, so check Edit profile.

What works. Lead with the viewer's problem, not your product. "5 signs you're overtraining" from a fitness app gets watched; "Download our app" doesn't. Show the product near the end or in the caption. Many app makers run several niche pages with the same format, so they can tell which hooks drive installs.

Disclosure. For your own business, turn on the commercial content disclosure setting and choose "Your brand," which adds a "Promotional content" label. See TikTok's disclosure guide.

Realistic expectations. Usually the best-paying route, since one customer is worth the full price, and the slowest to prove. Track signups or sales per post with a unique discount code or a tracking link.

3. Brand deals

How it works. A brand pays a flat fee for a slideshow featuring their product. Brands get a clear, saveable explanation instead of a 3-second mention.

Requirements. Brands can find you directly, or you can join TikTok One (formerly Creator Marketplace). Per TikTok's sign-up help page, you must be 18+, TikTok One must be live in your region, and you must follow the Community Guidelines and Branded Content Policy. Projects need at least 1,000 followers plus other requirements that vary.

Disclosure. Turn on the disclosure setting with "Branded content" selected, which labels the post "Paid partnership." The label can't be changed after posting.

Realistic expectations. There's no official rate card; rates vary by niche, engagement and usage rights. Brands care more about a tight niche and steady saves and comments than follower count. Pitch packages of several posts, since one slideshow is a weak test.

4. Grow a newsletter or sell a digital product

How it works. Slideshows teach in small steps, a natural lead-in to a template, guide, checklist or newsletter. The slideshow gives part of the answer; the full version lives behind your link.

A saveable list like this gives away a few templates and sets up the full pack behind your link. Swipe to see every slide.

Requirements. A landing page, an email tool and something worth signing up for. No bio link yet? Build followers first and use pinned posts to explain how to find you.

What works. "I made a free checklist of all 30" on the last slide of a 7-slide list. Keep the call to action at the end so it doesn't stop the swipe. An email list is also the one asset TikTok can't take away if your account gets restricted.

Realistic expectations. Most viewers never click. You want a small, steady share of an engaged audience, earning from them over months.

5. Run slideshow accounts for clients

How it works. Businesses, especially app makers, pay freelancers and small agencies to run slideshow accounts. You plan the content, make the slides, post on a schedule and report results.

Requirements. Proof. Grow one or two accounts of your own first, then show the numbers. Agree in writing on account ownership, posting frequency and reporting.

Realistic expectations. The most predictable income here, because a retainer pays whether or not a post goes viral. The tradeoff is volume: clients expect many posts a week across several accounts, so production speed decides your margin.

How to make slideshows consistently

Every route depends on posting volume and a recognizable look.

Pick one niche and three formats

Choose a niche you can talk about for months, then rotate three formats, such as a numbered list, a storytime and a myth vs. fact. Repeating formats shows which ones convert, not just which get views. Need more? See these TikTok slideshow ideas.

Post often enough to learn

There's no official best frequency. One post a week gives you four data points a month, too few to learn from. Many slideshow accounts post daily or more. On TikTok Shop, stay within the limits above.

Keep a consistent look

Use the same fonts, colors and text placement on every post so people recognize you before they read a word. Build slides at 9:16 (1080x1920) so they fill the screen.

Same type, colors and layout on every slide, so the account is recognizable at a glance. Swipe to see every slide.

Put the text on the image

Text baked into the image looks sharper and stays consistent. Our guide on how to make a TikTok slideshow with text covers the in-app method and designing slides beforehand.

Write the hook first

The first slide decides whether anyone swipes. Write five hooks, pick the strongest, then build the slides. End with one next step: save, follow for part 2, or check the product link.

Where Tweenery fits

Tweenery is an AI agent that makes slideshows from one message. It writes the copy, designs every slide at 9:16, renders the images, and can research the topic so the slides have substance. A saved brand profile keeps your logo, colors, fonts and tone the same on every post. Ask it to fix one weak slide, or paste a TikTok post link to recreate its structure and style on your topic. Export as PNG, JPEG or a ZIP, then upload in Photo Mode. It's free to start, no card needed.

Mistakes that cost slideshow creators money

  • Counting on Creator Rewards. Photo Mode posts don't qualify, and slide videos are listed as ineligible.
  • Chasing views in a broad niche. A million views on a random meme won't sell a product. A 30,000-view slideshow in a buying niche can.
  • Hard-selling on slide one. Put the product or link at the end.
  • Skipping disclosure. Paid and self-promotional posts need the content disclosure setting.
  • Measuring the wrong thing. Track orders, signups or installs per post, not likes.
  • Inconsistent design. People won't recognize you, and you can't tell whether the topic or the design made a post work.
